Energy Home Showcase!

If you currently live in Central Ohio there are some new homes about to be built that will encompass all that energy concious Buyers love. I am talking about a new subdivision just 5 minutes North of the Columbus Zoo of Hyatts Road. The long tree-lined private drive named Alexander Way after the original owners, leads you to a cul-de-sac where 3 beautiful homes will be constructed. The North Lot with 3 acres is directly at the end of the cul-de-sac with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. This amazing home will be priced around $690,000 and will not only have geo-thermal heating/cooling, radiant heating in select hardwood and tiled areas along with the basement and garage and Hurd windows, but this home will also have ICF walls and SIP roof system.  If you have no idea what these initials stand for just wait! You will love this technology!

Before we reveal what they mean, I want to tell you about the other two homes as well. At $475,000, The second home is a 2 1/2 story on 1.5 acres and on the left side of the private cul-de-sac (East Lot). This home is the second largest proposed here at 3681 Square Feet. Having 4 bedrooms is great in itself, but this home has an additional 2 bonus areas! One on the second floor and one on the 3rd. It has all the ameneties you would expect in a home of this calibar plus geo-thermal heating/cooling, radiant heating in selected areas as before along with the ICF walls, SIP roof system and the wonderful Hurd windows.

The third home located on the West Lot (to the left of the dul-de-sac) may be the smallest in square footage (2586 sf) but it is lacking for nothing! Coming in at $410,000 this home will have 4 bedrooms a finished basement (along with the other homes), a heat pump, ICF foundation walls, Hurd windows and a beautiful wrap around covered front porch to relax on and enjoy the 1.5 acres it sits on.

Now that we have briefly touched on the 3 homes that will be featured here let's talk about the Energy features!

ICF stands for Insulated Concrete Forms. This is a fairly new type of a foundation that basically expalined are poured concrete walls that are insulated on all sides. This as you would expect will not only save you in heating costs, but will also allow for the basement to be more comfortable and warmer.

Where and When to experience ICF Construction?

The first phase of the energy efficient showcase has started and is available
for viewing.  In this phase you will see proper ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms)
block layout, stacking of the block, re-bar positioning and proper bracing.  If
you're interested in seeing your new home built from highly energy efficient
products, you won't want to miss this.  This phase will be available to see
starting May 31st.

The second phase , the concrete pour, is estimated to begin June 6, 2007
(weather permitting)  from 12pm-3pm.  Food and drinks will be provided.
Come during your lunch and watch as the pump truck comes to fill the walls
with concrete.  If you can't make this pour date, one more is scheduled for
June 13, 2007, also from 12pm-3pm.  Be sure to visit the website the day
before to make sure the pour will still be happening on the dates you wish to
attend.  It would be very helpful if you could send us an email to let us know
what day you will be there or call at 866-972-9696.  SEE YOU THERE!
